The number of charitable public organizations The World As One fund cooperates with is constantly growing. They are mostly organizations providing assistance to disabled children.
Alas, statistics show that with each passing year the number of disabled children is increasing. This is due to both environmental adversity and economic instability. We believe that no kind and open-hearted person can remain indifferent to the problems of the disabled. It is not without reason that civic consciousness of society as a whole, and hence our humaneness, are judged by the treatment of people with disabilities.
That is why our fund has decided to become a permanent sponsor of another society for disabled children – this time from Kazakhstan, from the city of Pavlodar.
There are more than 3000 children with disabilities in Pavlodar Region. Thus, in 1996, Samal Children's Rehabilitation Center was opened in Pavlodar aimed at comprehensive (medical, psychological, educational, and social) rehabilitation of mentally and physically handicapped children and adolescents. In this center, children with disabilities have the opportunity to escape from the four walls, interact with peers, and find friends. Here they learn to live in harmony with themselves and the world around them. Here they are taught basic self-care techniques and household crafts. Specialists in different branches work in the center. They are the ones who create all the conditions for treatment and teaching of these children and prepare them for independent life in society. Unfortunately, we don’t have many centers like that.
The story of our partnership with the Samal center started in December 2008, when we registered the center’s director and several children with disabilities under a Pioneer act of charity. It was then that we gave the kids some New Year decorations for the coming holiday. In April 2009, we decided to provide the Samal rehabilitation center with permanent financial aid – at least once a quarter.
"We are happy that your charitable fund will take part in solving the problems of our residents,” Zinaida Bagnenko, the head of the Samal center, wrote in her letter. “We consider this opportunity as a positive step in the work of our center and we promise dedicated use of the funds your organization is going to transfer to us... Thank you for understanding our problems, for your kindness and sympathy!"
And recently we received a letter from Pavlodar with a request: "Today the power supply was cut off in the Samal center for a debt of 195,000 tenge. We are appealing to all our sponsors for aid and hope to collect the necessary sum to pay off the debt…Please do what you can to help.”

"All children are loved, all children are equal" – this is the motto of the charitable acts carried out by this center. It is within our power to prove to children with disabilities from Pavlodar that their fate means a lot to us, that other people are willing to share their problems.
Let’s support the work of the center, which really does give disabled children a lot of love and care, confidence in the future and in the fact that they are really equals among equals.”
Dear partners, we urge you not to remain indifferent to the problems of the Samal Children's Rehabilitation Center! After all, our sponsorship of children with disabilities from Pavlodar is possible only thanks to your money transfers!
Believing in you,
The World As One charitable fund
