Charity action at League #7 in Kiev
Actions of charity, kindness, and compassion have always been integral parts of our big corporate seminars. That’s why we supported this tradition at League #7 as well.

On reading Alena Kolegaeva’s (the mother of Dima — the boy we’ll be speaking about) letter, you will realize why.
“It seemed, nothing could go wrong when the trouble occurred.
Dima finished school. How many parting words he heard back then: you are just starting to live, all the good days are still to come…
And indeed, everything was going smoothly. We couldn’t afford to pay for our son’s tuition, and, luckily, he managed to pass the entrance exams to study for free. Our son was just lighting with joy. I remember a thought flash through my mind: everything was going too well.
On that day all our family was going to celebrate a holiday. Dima was just 5 minutes late, but I got worried, as I felt — my son had got into trouble.
Later we learned that the taxi-van Dima was riding in had bumped into a truck. My son was sitting next to the driver, so he stood in the breach. No one else was injured. Dima passed out right away and was admitted to the hospital in the state of deep cerebral coma.
When we rushed down to the hospital, the doctors said Dima’s condition was critical and there was nothing to hope for. They didn’t let us see our son. They said they would have to bring me and my husband round instead of saving Dimka’s life.
During the first two days we were just stuck to the doors of the resuscitation department. I saw, there were only 10 steps to Dima’s room so I was speaking to him: “Sonny, your mom and dad are around. Don’t think we left you; it’s just about the rules… But we’re under the same roof with you”.
He had an extremely severe brain injury, haemorrhage, base of skull bones fracture, he was unconscious, all of his brain structures were damaged and his vital functions — respiratory and cardiac — were affected. According to the data of the world’s leading clinics, 90% of patients with similar traumas die. One of the advantages in his situation was his age: children and teenagers tend to recover better thanks to compensation abilities of the organism.
In the resuscitation department the doctors fought for his life round the clock 29 days in a row, there was no hope left...
I can’t describe the pain, fear, and bitterness I experienced back then and still have been experiencing for all this time.
My son was unconscious for 85 days.
Dima's life was being rescued by means of the most advanced treatment methods along with the records of my voice. This is a unique irritant for any person. In two days of playing the record Dima’s eyes started watering. He didn’t understand the words, but the native intonations were recalling him back to life.
Before letting me see my son the doctors warned me that I mustn’t cry in his presence. But when I entered his room I couldn’t hold back tears. His head was shaven and it had 11 scars, the boy got skinny and was lying motionless.
I spoke to him every day (well, was telling him some news rather) so that he could listen to my voice. And in 6 months Dima began to speak again. The first word he pronounced was “mommy”.
In the meantime, no one of the culprits of the accident offered any help — they didn’t even ask about how he was doing at that time.
Please, help me save my only sonny!
With hope, Alena Kolegaeva”.
At our latest Saturday seminar held by Masha Taranova’s team our partners Isam and Tatiana Shikhadekh introduced me to Alena and her son Dmitry.
Dima can hardly move, it takes him great efforts to make a step, plus he needs to be supported all the time. It was before my eyes when Dima started to fall after his dad let his hand go for a second.
When I saw this boy, my heart was just wrung with pain, and it froze in this condition. His mom Alena told me their story with tears in her eyes, and I could find no words in reply. The only thing I kept saying was: “Everything is going to be alright!”
After all, that is true — I want so much to believe that everything will be fine, that Dima will recover and live, and his parents’ eyes will be filled with happiness, not tears.
Dima has already had a few operations, but there is another very important one in store for him — a brain surgery. And it is very urgent.
During this week, while we were solving all the issues related to the help for the Kolegaev’s, my heart was aching, it didn’t let me relax. So at League #7 in Kiev we presented Dima’s mom with 1,500$. Alena thanked all the partners, the Company and the fund, and couldn’t stop crying. Yes, the cost of the operation was much more, but this sum will be of great help to the boy’s parents.
All together, the whole hall of partners wished Dimochka strong health, and to his mom — indispensable motherly happiness!

Everything is going to be alright! Everything just has to be alright!
